Images transmitted to RFI suggest that the Malian army and its Russian partners from Africa Corps have used cluster munitions, which are banned under the 2010 Oslo Treaty. The FLA independence movement has denounced the use of Russian-made RBK-500 bombs and ShOAB-0.5 submunitions, which disperse widely and often fail to explode on impact.
